First Z-Gauge Model Railroad Train Track with Eric Smith

The Story

We met Eric Smith at the Big-E West Springfield Massachusetts model train show, the largest in the United States covering over 4 acres 'indoors'.
Micro-Trains introduced its new Z-scale Micro-Track sectional track system at the Big Railroad Hobby Show at the Big E on January 29–30, 2005.

A February 2005 report describes the new track—with molded roadbed—as a featured Micro-Trains announcement at that show, with production planned for fall 2005.

Micro-Trains had already offered Z-scale flex track by 1998; the 2005 Big E introduction was specifically the newer sectional Micro-Track system with built-in roadbed.
